Episode 120: Intrigued by Iguanas w/Chris Pellecchia

Biography

Christopher Pellecchia is a Ph.D. student in Biological Sciences at the University in South Mississippi.  His current research focuses on understanding the interspecific interactions, ecology, and conservation issues of Rhinoceros Iguanas and Ricord’s Rock Iguanas in the Dominican Republic, the Population Genetics of the Pearl Darter, and Invasive Gecko Biology. He is a Special Projects staff member of the International Reptile Conservation Foundation, Inc and a member of the IUCN SSC Iguana Specialist Group.  He received his B.S. (Zoology) from Auburn University and his M.S. (Biology) from Jacksonville State University in Alabama.  He is a long-time iguana keeper and breeder in captivity; also being the owner/operator of The Iguana Laboratory.
