California Condor
Without a doubt, the story of the California Condor is an incredible journey into how a species was saved from the brink in the late 20th Century. This bird highlights some of the most successful early work on how conservation experts came together to halt the Condor’s extinction and bring them back. While these birds are still critically endangered, they are now numbered at over 450, up from a low of 22 animals.
Chris recently relocated to New Zealand and will be updating the notes section when possible. For more information the San Diego Zoo’s website has an excellent article highlighting the California Condor.
