Episode 16A: Busting Bat Myths

This week we are letting our new subscribers catch up with all our episodes and will be releasing a candid interview with Dr. Deborah Cottrell, DVM.  She has been heavily involved in bat conservation and rescue. Please listen as we continue our discussion on bats and how critical these mammals are to maintaining a healthy environment.

Dr. Cottrell graduated from the University of Texas with Bachelor’s Degrees in Biology and Chemistry. She did two years of work toward a Master’s Degree in Molecular Genetics when she was accepted to Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, she practiced briefly in Texas, then moved to Florida, where she started her own practice, West End Animal Hospital, in 1986. She has been working with rescue groups and wildlife ever since, and has a special interest in rescue and rehabilitation of native insectivorous bats. She has been married to Iaon Cottrell since 2004.
